Over the course of five years, students will systematically study the foundational and advanced texts in the core Islamic disciplines, building a strong foundation in Arabic language and mastering the methodologies of Islamic jurisprudence, Hadith analysis, and Quranic exegesis. Program Structure: The 5-Year Alimiyyah Program is structured across ten semesters (two per year), progressively building knowledge and analytical skills. The curriculum follows a logical progression, starting with foundational subjects and moving towards more specialized and advanced studies. Core Subjects Covered Over 5 Years: The curriculum is comprehensive and includes, but is not limited to, the following key areas: Arabic Language and Literature: Intensive study of Classical Arabic Grammar (Nahw) and Morphology (Sarf). Development of reading, writing, and comprehension skills in classical Arabic texts. Study of Arabic Rhetoric (Balaghah) and Literature to appreciate the linguistic miraculousness of the Quran and the beauty of classical Arabic prose and poetry. Aqidah (Islamic Theology): Exploration of the core beliefs of Islam, including Tawhid (Oneness of Allah), Prophethood, the Divine Books, Angels, the Hereafter, and Divine Decree. Study of classical texts on Aqidah and discussions on theological concepts. Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Detailed study of Islamic law according to one or more of the recognized schools of thought (madhahib). Coverage of rulings related to acts of worship (Ibadat), financial transactions (Mu’amalat), family law (Munakahat), and criminal law (Jinayat). Usul al-Fiqh (Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence): Study of the sources of Islamic law (Quran, Sunnah, Ijma’, Qiyas). Understanding the methodologies used by scholars to derive rulings from the primary sources. Exploration of legal maxims and principles. Hadith and Usul al-Hadith (Principles of Hadith): Study of major Hadith collections (e.g., Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami’ al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Abi Dawud, Sunan al-Nasa’i, Sunan Ibn Majah, Mishkat al-Masabih).
